Attention mayoral candidates: Voters — even those with cars — want protected bike lanes and pedestrian islands that make it safer to cross the street, a poll being released Monday reveals. Nearly 70% of voters surveyed — and 65% who own cars — said they support the additions to their neighborhood streets, says the poll by research firm Penn Schoen Berland and Transportation Alternatives.
