A rival's camp is asking the city Campaign Finance Board to investigate whether Bill de Blasio's campaign broke the law by accepting improper discounts from a convicted felon. A Bill Thompson operative filed a complaint with the board Monday, after the Daily News reported that de Blasio apparently got discount rates for fundraisers at the Meatpacking District restaurant Villa Pacri. The eatery is run by Victor Jung, who served a year in federal prison for skimming $1.3 million from NBC.
