They're both New York City cops who were born in Hong Kong and immigrated here as children. Both lived in Chinatown, and worked in banking before becoming police officers. The similar lives of NYPD Police Officer Yi Huang and Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority Officer Eddie Fung intersected on July 23. They were standing at the railing of the upper roadway of the Verrazano Bridge, nearly 200 feet above the water, and used their Cantonese language skills to save a distraught man threatening to jump.
