A Japanese woman had to have the tips of five toes amputated after a co-worker allegedly tried to kill her by putting hydrofluoric acid in her shoes. Tatsujiro Fukasawa, 40, was charged with attempted murder. The man's efforts to secure a date with the woman, who is also in her 40s, were turned down, the Japan Times reports.
